We got to sleep in today because slack at Hole-in-the-Wall is at 1 PM and it is a 2 hour trip there. We saw some dolphins in Lewis Channel but they didn't want to play in our wake. We had a 2 kt push through Hole-in-the-Wall and Okisollo rapids. Wind up to 40 kts at times but the sea remained rippled. Discovery Channel and Johnstone Strait were rippled and very comfortable cruising. Our destination is Blind Channel Resort
http://www.blindchannel.com/ on Mayne Channel (why isn't Blind Channel Resort on Blind Channel??).

This lovely resort has most everything one would need. Unfortunately we are too early in the season for the German inspired restaurant to be open. There is a cool rocky beach at low tide. Merlin likes to play in the water by picked up rocks in the water and bringing them to the beach and I like to to hunt for beach glass. This is one of the few places on the coast that I find pieces on every trip.
There was a Bayliner on the dock with a couple who are also heading to Alaska. I invited them over to Emerald Star at 5 PM for Happy Hour. As the afternoon progressed two other boats showed up and we found out we are all heading to Alaska. So, the party got bigger. I think we reached a comfortable maximum of people on our boat. We had a lovely time sharing stories and information. We hope to catch up with some of these folks up the road.
Is that all glass you found? Pretty.
ReplyDeleteYes, I found it all on various beaches but most of it is from here.
